Record Company 101
Students will take part in a hands-on experience in the music studio production process as in real life. Students learn and are a part of six different departments of the music industry. They will work to complete an album integrating the involvement of all the departments; from production, lyrics, promotion, marketing etc.
  • Multimedia- Fully equipped Studio with the applicable technology.

What takes place in the other departments?
  • Artist & Repertoire- Selecting tracks, appropriating them with artists and finding artists. Serve as a one-on-one advisor with the artists.
  • Publicity- Getting the name out of the artists and make announcements such as press releases etc.
  • Marketing- Learn how to promote and advertise your artists and their albums
  • Art- Album cover graphics, creation of music videos, photography
  • New Media- Online promotion, website maintenance (e.g. photo update etc.), creation of news alerts, selection of video material for the website. Check out www.ptonesrecords.com
Students are taught how to collaborate in a team setting as in a real music studio and are given a chance to earn college tuition with their final product.

Hip-Hop Dance & Choreography 101
  • The Dance Group will cooperate in creating choreography for the music-video for the final album.
  • The Dance Group will learn dance techniques & choreography.
Hip-Hop Stage/Costume Fashion 101
  • Students will learn how to take their creative fashion ideas and transform them into a clothing line.
  • Students will learn to develop their fashion skills as an exposure to further pursue a career in the Fashion Industry.
